Snorri Touren - The Newest Dark Ride at Europa-Park

January 16, 2020

Electrosonic is a global audiovisual and technology company that designs, builds and supports innovative technology solutions where people live work and play.

Europa Park in Rust, Germany is one of the largest theme parks in the world and certainly the largest in Germany, voted best park of the year 6 times by the prestigious Golden Ticket Awards.

The park had a vision and an opportunity to create something new, something exciting in 2019 and came to Electrosonic to help bring that vision to life. The goal was to create a brand new innovative family dark ride under their Scandavanian village area of the park. The goal was to create a "Full grown Dark Ride on a very small scale." Meaning that the ride would incorporate technology usually seen in much larger attractions and adapting it to a smaller footprint.

Creating what is the most immersive attraction of this scale out in the world today. "In the new themed ride, the cheeky octopus Snorri takes guests to the mysterious island of Rulantica and shows you his home there." The ride's story also acts as a real world journey since the park opened its new water world - Rulantica the same year.

Electrosonic's team of project managers and integrators worked with the park's designers to bring a state of the art technology solution to the attraction. Incorporating over 17 screens and projections, two of which being specialty dome projections, technology usually reserved for much larger scale experiences like flying theaters, as well as projection mapping and audio solutions create an immersive ride experience that is unlike any other ride at the park.
