CHALLENGE

Make it bold because this is a championship organization — celebrate the achievements of football giants the New England Patriots in a way no other team has been honored. That was the brief to the team working on the Hall at Patriot Place. Architects Cambridge Seven Associates set the vision — a new kind of sports museum that uses the dynamic interplay between architecture and gallery design to capture the power of teamwork and involve fans in the action.

This was audiovisual on a grand scale. Think interactive video walls 35 feet high, an immersive recreation of a game in snow and interactive exhibits explaining how coaches design complex football plays. Great fan relationships are essential to commercial success so the Hall had to make them feel part of something special. The aim was to engage fans with interactive exhibits and create the WOW factor that would make a visit a truly memorable event.

A dazzling array of interactive and immersive multimedia exhibits and artifacts engage fans of all ages.

SOLUTION

Fans enjoy a multimedia experience throughout the 36,000 square feet gallery. Giant interactive video pylons make the first indoor use of eco-friendly reflective LCD technology. Interactive touchscreens allow visitors to select Hall of Fame players and bring their careers to life with big-scale multimedia. In a virtual stadium tunnel, sensors trigger the sounds of a packed stadium and audiovisual recreates the atmosphere of a game in snowfall.
